A HISTORY OF EXCELLENCE

In 1965 Woody Anderson built an auto body shop on Myrtle Avenue. By 1973 it had gone through two different owners when an auto body mechanic named Fred Taylor decided to buy the shop. Fred had started auto body repair as a hobby before getting a job with Isaacson Ford in Arcata in 1966.

Woody's shop was across the street from the current location, and in fact the original building is still standing. Today, Fred's Body Shop has expanded several times and is now a local institution as the only I-Car Gold Class certified auto body repair shop in Humboldt County.
